A Practical Look at the Raw Food Lifestyle – Part 1 – Episode #716

By 1a2b | February 23, 2012

Angela and I hosted a group of alternative medicine students and gave talks on the importance of nutrition, particularly the healing and regenerative aspects of a raw food diet as well as a whole food diet. We talked about what a raw food diet looks like, why it works and the major issues people encounter when attempting to live a raw food, or even a whole food lifestyle. We split this up into a number of videos, and this series is packed with great information, so watch for the rest of them coming soon!

    I went vegetarian. Then I went vegan. I was a fat cow. Been raw for 29 whole days. I’ve never felt better in my life. Raw is different from vegetarian or vegan. Most people don’t get that.

    This one of your best shows, Matt. I made it my favorite. Thanks for the information. I’m not on a 100% raw food diet, yet, and your talk gave me a lot of encouragement.

    Good job, Matt. Like you said, It is what you stop eating that will save your health the most. And of course the quantity of food you eat. Which I think you will mentioned in a later part. Luigi Cornaro is a good example. Life can be great in abundance in yet be a very simple concept.

    @julieke04 around 3 years. I know that whenever i get acne/redness, if i clean my colon (i use oxypowder), that the acne and redness decrease dramatically. Your skin as well as your nails, tongue, eyes, are all signs of what is happening inside your body. I take a bunch of whole food supplements yes. Msm is one that may apply to making the skin look better. you can take msm orally and get msm facial lotion that may help.
    good luck.

    @sathlin how long have you been raw? Do you think the redness will disapear in time? Are you taking any natural suplements or herbs?

    @julieke04
    It will help with the acne for sure, the reddness(which i have as well) does lessen somewhat. Getting some sun on your face will help with that as well, not too much, but a little bit.

    @sathlin will this affect the blood vessels in the face as well? Cause dilated blood vessels give the red appearance. I’m not sure if raw food has an effect on that?

    @julieke04
    yes it can.
    And you need to clean your colon.
    your skin is an indication of your inner body, your digestion.

    @julieke04 I recorded it! :-) Pretty much the specific remedy is to improve your diet, go through the detox symptoms and cleanse the colon to help eliminate the toxins. . .
